What's 50c?
Written on 19 March 2009
I was contacted recently by a legal firm looking for a branding revamp. I happened to be out of the office when the initial call came in so they left a voicemail message. I returned the call and set up a meeting to discuss their requirements in person. At the meeting I learned that several local design agencies were contacted for a quote and of them all, iLevel was the only design agency to have responded. That's disgusting.
Being a part of a service delivery industry, and one where communication is key, I was embarrassed for the other design agencies who didn't even bother to respond to a request for a quotation. In business, it is sometimes the smallest connection that can lead to the biggest deals. Case in point - through a connection made several years ago relating to a single design project, iLevel is now a supplier to the world's biggest brand with work distributed across the whole of the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
It's always who you know, and that one missed call you never returned may have cost you much more than just 50c a minute.
